Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before getting started.

What does a complete pool water quality analysis test for?
Our analysis tests pH, free and combined chlorine, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, total dissolved solids (TDS), phosphates, salt concentration, and metals such as copper and iron.
Still have questions?
Our team is available to answer any questions about your pool's specific needs. Reach out and we'll get back to you fast.
How often should I get a complete water analysis in South Florida?
A complete 10-point analysis should be performed monthly, or whenever you're experiencing recurring problems, after heavy rainfall, or when opening a pool after extended non-use.
What are phosphates in pool water and why do they matter?
Phosphates are nutrients that feed algae growth. High phosphate levels make it extremely difficult to maintain proper chlorine levels, leading to recurring algae problems.
What is cyanuric acid and what should levels be?
Cyanuric acid (CYA) protects chlorine from UV destruction. In South Florida pools, ideal CYA levels are 30 to 50 ppm. Levels above 100 ppm reduce chlorine effectiveness and require partial pool draining.
Can high TDS affect my pool?
Yes. High TDS above 1,500 ppm over baseline can cause cloudy water, reduce chemical effectiveness, and create a corrosive water feel. Resolution typically requires partial draining and refilling.
